The Taffetas
I had the opportunity to work as Lead Designer of Costumes, Hair and Makeup for our production of The Taffetas. We went for a very "girl next door" image in Act One, and a glamour look in Act Two. But the biggest image for Taffetas was quintessential 1950's women.
Beyond designing, I also created this green dress for the character Peggy. A Simplicity pattern, I created a mock dress by grading the original pattern and building it in muslin. After fitting this mock up, I added a green chiffon overlay and draping along the neckline and waist to blend with the other characters.
